On National Time Out Day, June 17, leading healthcare organizations will recognize the importance of O.R. teams taking time out before surgery to confirm important details in order to make surgical procedures more safe. At ClearCount Medical Solutions, we salute the organizations and the healthcare workers who are making National Time Out day and surgical safety initiatives more than an idea. We know that making patient safety improvements is hard work – and we want to hear your stories. Submissions may be published on the ClearCount web site and publicized to the medical community.

Registration is open June 17 through 24. Winners will be announced July 15.

The best description of a hospital's patient safety initiative will win our first prize. A random drawing will also be held. Both winners receive a copy of the AORN Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices, 2009 edition.

ClearCount supports National Time Out Day because of its potential to greatly improve patient safety. We commit year-round to work together with our clients to ensure patient safety every time, in every case.
